GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO THRIFT... ﷯The Memory Lane Thrift Store was founded as a call to action. With an overwhelming request from friends of Hospice of Kona, partner organizations, and community members wanting to support our patients and families; Hospice of Kona answered the call by establishing a center for giving, a space for community and a means to pay it forward to those in need. With the support of donations and dedicated volunteers; Memory Lane Thrift Stores offer high quality, reusable items at fair pricing to support every budget. It is an extension of the Hospice of Kona mission and vision; which has allowed us to expand our charitable contributions to other organizations and partners as well as bring awareness to the larger community about the hospice philosophy. It has become the epitome of giving and a beautiful example of a community supporting a cause beyond the organizations reach. The monies raised at our stores; support the charitable services we offer as an organization; supplementing operational expenses to Nakamaru Hale and ensuring that our resident patients are not burdened financially throughout their stay. Every dollar earned at our stores directly supplement day-to-day expenses that accrue in patient care services at the Hale including, meals, equipment, laundry, and wish list items, for our patients and their families. All donations, pay it forward to our patients, and we are grateful to the Kona community for extending their generosity and supporting our families.
The success of the Memory Lane Thrift Stores would not be possible without the incredible dedication of the store volunteers that contribute their time and love to the day-to-day operations of each store. They are a powerful force of good; sharing their talents, their stories and their life experiences to make each store so special. We are grateful to you all and the love you offer this community. You are our Super Heroes and we appreciate all you do for our stores, but most importantly, for what that dedication means to our patients and their families. MEMORY LANE VOLUNTEERS

MEET OUR STORE MANAGERS
Memory Lane would not be what it is without the leadership and dedication of our store manager Mary Villaverde. It is with her decades of experience in the service industry, that Mary brought her talent and vision to our stores; developing the structure of our volunteer program and structure of the daily operations leading to the stores success. She broke ground on the first Memory Lane store in 2010 and then the opening of our second location in 2019. She is the heart of Memory Lane and the driving force behind its success. MARY VILLAVERDI - MEMORY LANE Faith started her journey with Hospice of Kona working in administration and then as a sales associate in our Memory Lane Thrift Boutique. Her patience and ability made her a perfect candidate to lead our Memory Lane Too Furniture Thrift Store in 2024. Faith’s warm demeanor, organizational talent and hard work is a huge contribution to the success of Memory Lane Too and healthy a competition for Miss Mary at her sister location. FAITH SPINNEY - MEMORY LANE TOO
